The School Council

Pupil Voice is fundamental at Chater Infant School. Our School Council is made up of pupils from Reception-Year 2 who have been elected by their classmates. They meet on a regular basis and their role is to make a difference to our school community and to the wider world.

During their meetings the school council have the opportunity to voice their ideas, thoughts and feelings. All school council representatives are given the opportunity to feedback what was discussed in meetings to their class.

Here are some of the things our School Council have been responsible for over the years:

· Making decisions on what new playground equipment to have in the Key Stage 1 playground.

· Sharing thoughts and feelings from their class about where they feel safe.

· Providing pupil voice about school lunches.

· Letting us know about behaviour.

Being a member of our School Council is considered a great honour and children develop skills in communication and confidence.
