The academic year  runs from the 1st September to the 31st August.

Nursery

A child will start  in Nursery the academic year they are 4 and you will need to apply for their  Nursery place the year they are 3.  The current year of birth for children joining Nursery in September 2026 is from 01.09.2022 to 31.08.2023. This application will need to be made directly to Chater Infant School.  The information below will help you to apply for your child’s Nursery place at Chater Infant School.  The closing date for applications is Friday 27th February at 9.00am.

We are able to offer 15-hour places and 30-hour places with the possible extension depending on your requirements.  If you are not eligible for the free 30 Hours you can still request an all-day place for your child and you will be invoiced for the additional time.

Allocations will be made on 16th March 2026 and an email will be sent to the email address used for the application on that day.  The deadline for accepting the offer of a nursery place is 9.00am on Monday 23rd March 2026.  If you are late accepting the offer of a nursery place then the offer may be withdrawn.

Reception

During the  academic year the child is 4 you will need to apply for their Reception class place.

Junior School

During the  academic year the child is 7 you will need to apply for their Junior School  place.
