The academic year  runs from the 1st September to the 31st August.

Nursery

A child will start Nursery in the academic year in which they turn 4 years old, and an application for a Nursery place should be made during the academic year in which they turn 3 years old.  For children joining Nursery in September 2027, the eligible date of birth range is 01.09.2023 to 31.08.2024. Applications for Nursery places must be submitted directly to Chater Infant School.

The information below will support you in applying for your child’s Nursery place at Chater Infant School. The closing date for applications is Friday 26th February 2027 at 9.00am.

We are able to offer both 15-hour and 30-hour Nursery places, with the possibility of extended provision depending on your requirements. If you are not eligible for the free 30-hour entitlement, you may still request a full-day place for your child; however, you will be invoiced for any additional hours attended.

Nursery Application Form 2027 2028

Please contact the school if you would like further information about our Nursery provision.

Allocations will be made on 15th March 2027 and an email will be sent to the email address used for the application on that day. The deadline for accepting the offer of a Nursery place is 9.00am on Monday 22nd March 2027. If you are late accepting the offer of a Nursery place then the offer may be withdrawn.

Reception

During the academic year the child is aged 4, you will need to apply for their Reception class place.

Junior School

During the academic year the child is aged 7, you will need to apply for their Junior School place.
